F1 - Sunday's Belgian F1 Grand Prix

Circuit: Spa-Francorchamps.

Lap distance: 7.004 km.

Total distance: 44 laps, 308.052 km.

Race lap record: Kimi Raikkonen (Finland) McLaren one minute 45.108 seconds (lap 42, 2004). Average speed 238.936km/h

The circuit is the longest in the championship and second fastest after Monza. The original track was 14 km long on a triangle of roads connecting Malmedy, Stavelot and Francorchamps.

Weather conditions change rapidly and drivers can find the track dry on one section and wet in another.

Because of the length of the track, drivers do fewer laps in practice. Race strategy is also complicated, with every extra lap worth of fuel translating into a potentially costly time disadvantage.

The final session of qualifying at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit saw Massa hit the top of the timesheets with a 1:47.6 effort after putting in what he described as an "almost perfect" lap.

However, it was not enough to hold off Hamilton as the McLaren Mercedes star then proceeded to put in two fastest sector times to steal pole position by a comfortable 0.340s margin.

Qualifyning Results For Sunday:

1) Hamilton
2) Massa
3) Kovalainen
4) Raikkonen
