The Sharks are gearing up for a massive challenge today when the Vodacom Free State Cheetahs arrive in town, intent on rescuing their semi-final goals which hit an obstacle against Western Province last weekend, knowing that history is on the visitors’ side.
However, it isn’t all about the Cheetahs, and while there is plenty of respect for the opposition, the Sharks must seize the initiative first, taking confidence from last week’s performance.
“The challenge for us this week after the big hype for the Bulls game when we were up for it and got job done, is to get up again, it’s a huge match,” he explains. “As a team, we need to get back up there.”
The team are in the right frame of mind, not only for the big games like this, but for the competition as a whole.
“The team makes its own decisions, the players are responsible for themselves and for the jersey, we are starting to understand this,” he points out.
“The test for us this week is to continue what we are doing, pushing hard for a home semi. The challenge this year is to do something with that.”
